Forest County welcomes hunters on the County Forest. We do ask that hunters respect the land and land managers. Here are some guidelines to remember while hunting on the County Forest:
Please know that these are just a few of the things to know about hunting on the County Forest. If you have questions please contact the Forestry and Recreation Department at 715-478-3475.
Forest County has a woods road network that makes for excellent hunting trails.
These trails are secondary logging roads which have been seeded with white clover to provide a food source for various species of wildlife. There are approximately 80 miles of trail on the County Forest. The trails are mowed once a year by the Forestry and Recreation Department with financial assistance from the Department of Natural Resources, which makes them excellent trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, and other outdoor activities. Grouse hunters are the largest user group of these trails and have found plenty of birds. Please be respectful of the trails and their users.
NO UNAUTHORIZED MOTORIZED VEHICLES ALLOWED.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Please respect the forest. Do not litter, damage trees or harass wildlife. If you encounter a trail hazard, report it immediately to the Forest County Forestry and Recreation Department, Forest County Courthouse, 200 E. Madison Street, Crandon, WI 54520. Telephone: 715.478.3475.
