Forest County has a woods road network that makes for excellent hunting trails.
These trails are secondary logging roads which have been seeded with white clover to provide a food source for various species of wildlife. There are approximately 80 miles of trail on the County Forest. The trails are mowed once a year by the Forestry and Recreation Department with financial assistance from the Department of Natural Resources, which makes them excellent trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, and other outdoor activities. Grouse hunters are the largest user group of these trails and have found plenty of birds. Please be respectful of the trails and their users. NO UNAUTHORIZED MOTORIZED VEHICLES ALLOWED.
